The third and last stage of the Trans Salzkammergut Loop also offers scenic beauty and spectacular cycling. This stage starts out at the church in Gosau. From here you ride in a north-eastern direction down to Hallstätter See. The route follows the lake’s western shores to the towns of Steeg and St. Agatha. The road than climbs past Hallerberg and around Rauscherg to Rauschberghütte. The way down to Rettenbachtal takes you past Sandlingalmen. In the valley you ride upriver along Rettenbach. Now the trail climbs up past Rettenbachalm and Blaa–Alm and on to the salt mine. Continue down via Dimmeslberg and the towns of Puchen and Obertressen to the end of the tour in Bad Aussee.
