Trans Salzkammergut Grand Tour I

The Trans Salzkammergut Grand Tour consists of four one-day stages and crosses the pristine Salzkammergut from south to north. The tour takes you through awe-inspiring mountain sceneries and past crystal-clear lakes. Starting point is the Tourist Information in Bad Mitterndorf. In the beginning the road travels through hilly terrain through Oberndorf to Radlings Pass. Continuing in that direction you will get to the western shores of Grundlsees. The route then follows the northern shores of the lake to Gößl. From here the road climbs up to Salzaalm before descending back down to Bad Mitterndorf. The road towards Salza reservoir is easy and has only very little elevation change. The route conintues along the reservoir’s western shores and then heads in a south-western direction to Gröming. Here the road once more climbs steeply towards Koritzwand. Soon afterwards you reach Viehbergalm, the finish of this stage. Overnight stays possible.
