The Trans Salzkammergut Loop consists of three one-day stages and takes you through some of the Salzkammergut’s most breathtaking mountain sceneries. Starting point of the first stage is the church in Bad Aussee. From here you ride in a north-eastern direction to the western shores of Grundlsee. Continue to the lake’s northern shore and ride to Gößl. The road now climbs up to Salzaalm before descending down to Bad Mitterndorf. Continue in a southern direction towards Salza reservoir on an easy and almost flat road. The route continues along the reservoir’s western shores and then heads in a south-western direction to Gröming. Here the road once more climbs steeply towards Koritzwand. Soon afterwards you reach Viehbergalm, the finish of this stage. Overnight stays possible.
