Transferring GPS data

To transfer data to and from the GPS receiver and the PC computer you need GPS software. Some popular programs include Touratech Quo Vadis, Austrian MAP and Fugawi. A good and free program is G7toWin. All programs allow you to upload, downloading and mange information from several GPS devices. To transfer data, you must connect the data cable to the GPS and connect the serial connector to the serial port on the back of your computer. Newer models like the GPSmap 60C can be attached to the computer via a USB cable. The latest generation of GPS-devices comes with built-in basemaps.
