Cycle through the heart of the natural world
The Limestone Alps National Park region is one of the most beautiful mountain biking areas in Upper Austria – since time immemorial it has been synonymous with extensive forests, clear mountain streams and lush alpine pastures. This large uninhabited area of wooded mountains contains three dozen different forest species, more than 30 different orchids, the longest intact stream system and more than 800 springs. It is also home to species of plants and animals that are threatened with extinction elsewhere. With a little bit of luck, bikers will encounter deer, chamois, golden eagles, white-backed woodpeckers and Rosalia longhorn beetles. However, they may also encounter the lynx and the brown bear, which are also native species here.
